The special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan has been extended until October 1
The special quarantine regime on the territory of Azerbaijan has been extended until October 1, the corresponding decision was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov. The document states that the quarantine regime is maintained "in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
Note that in practice this means only one thing – the closure of land borders. All other restrictions have long been lifted, and the coronavirus pandemic also stopped in mid-2022. In one of his speeches, Head of State Ilham Aliyev said that the land borders remain closed "for security reasons."
Thus, the country's land borders have remained closed since March 2020, which causes outrage and discontent among the country's citizens, because it seriously complicates visits to neighboring countries – Georgia, Russia, Iran and Türkiye.
