The wave of protests in Iran does not stop
Baku / 13.01.20 / Turan: Protests and clashes between the population and law enforcement forces continue are ongoing in Iran. According to Radio Liberty, the police used tear gas and firearms to disperse the protest in Tehran on Sunday. Several demonstrators were injured.
The protests in Iran began after the authorities admitted that the Ukrainian Boeing was shot down on January 8 by Iranian air defense forces.
Protesters accuse authorities of hiding the truth about the disaster. There are calls to change the political regime and slogans against the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
