Interior Minister receives journalist Anar Mammadov
Baku/13.01.20/ Turan: Today Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov received the editor of the Criminal.az website Anar Mammadov in connection with the latter’s request to investigate a message on social networks about his alleged “brutal beating”.
“I informed the minister about the spread of false information and the possible authors of this provocation. I also said that recently I have been regularly brought to trial on unfounded claims. Therefore, I do not exclude that the fake comes from the plaintiff. In any case, all this is connected with my journalistic activity,” Mammadov said.
According to the journalist, the minister listened carefully to him and said that he was taking the matter under his personal control. He promised to carry out the necessary investigation and there are enough technical capabilities to understand the situation.
“We will not allow anyone to threaten anyone,” Mammadov conveyed the words of the minister.
On January 10, a message appeared in social networks about the brutal beating of Mammadov at the order of an oligarch. On that day, Mammadov was in the Agdam region at a lawsuit against businessperson Malakhat Gurbanova. She demands that he is to be imprisoned for “slander” and “insult”.
If Mammadov is found guilty, he could be imprisoned to years, plus 5.5 years, which he is serving on probation for publications about the events in Ganja in July 2018. –06D-
