Two Armenian Opposition Leaders Arrive in Baku
The Hyatt Regency hotel in Baku opened a conference on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and the prospects for its settlement. The event is held under the patronage of the authorities, with the participation of pro-government NGOs.
Holding such conferences in itself is not new, but for the first time the authorities have invited representatives of Armenians to Azerbaijan - Vahe Avetyan and Vahan Martirosyan. Last year, Martirosyan asked for political asylum in Azerbaijan, and Avetyan was not allowed to Baku when he arrived from Sweden in October.
Both are representative of the opposition to the Armenian authorities, as well as in favor of reconciliation with Azerbaijan in the Karabakh issue.
Vahe Avetyan made a walk in Baku and put on his page many photos, visited the Armenian Church and the historical center.
The Armenians have not yet communicated with the local media. -02B-
