U.S. Ambassador Visited the Albanian Church in Nij
U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningstar is on a study tour in Gabala. According to the press service of the embassy, ??the Ambassador visited the executive power in the area yesterday. Then he visited one of the schools participating in the program of intensive English language. The Ambassador spoke to the students of this school without an interpreter.
Today, the Ambassador visited the village of Nij, home to Udi - the descendants of Albanians and visited the local church. In meetings with the head of the municipality, the spiritual leader of the Udi people and the head of the restored Albanian church, the Ambassador was informed about the history and cultural traditions of Udi people.
The visit is of a traditional, working character and aims to familiarize with the regions of Azerbaijan, the press service of the embassy said. Today the Ambassador will return to Baku. -02B-
