On May 15, at 21:00 the Internet will begin broadcasting a new TV channel - Meydan TV. It will be broadcast simultaneously through the Turkish Turksat satellite communications on the frequency 11804 V 24444 5/6.
As reported at Meydan TV.com, the goal of this project is to provide alternative information to Azerbaijanis living abroad about the real situation in Azerbaijan.
The channel will also broadcast entertainment programs.
The office of the new Meydan TV will be located in Berlin. With regard to financing, the funds will be provided by Azerbaijanis living in different parts of the world, as well as by citizens of Azerbaijan.
The idea of creating this channel belongs to a former prisoner of conscience, and cofounder of the Forum of Azerbaijani Students Emin Milli. The creation of the television was also attended by representatives of the Diaspora.
The Director of Meydan TV Emin Milli believes that this resource will be an open platform, where people could discuss the existing problems and express their opinions. It will also create a platform for ordinary people so that they could speak freely.
Based on available information, this channel will broadcast videos of other Internet resources, and independent media.
Currently, overseas broadcasting to Azerbaijan comes via the satellite of the Turkish Turksat. The program Azerbaijani Hour is led by the editor of the newspaper Azadlig, Ganimat Zahid. -16D04-
