US Embassy: «We are proud of our history of self-review and self-correction»
The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan responded to our inquiry related to the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hearing on human rights situation in the United States: "We are aware of the recent discussion on human rights in the United States held by the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. We respect the right of individuals everywhere to express their views and believe it is always worthwhile to have a fact-based dialogue on fundamental freedoms. The United States takes the issue of human rights very seriously, both at home and abroad. We do not claim to be perfect, AND we are proud of our history of self-review and self-correction. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, and we welcome dialogue on our progress."
