Vusal Huseynov dismissed high-ranking officials of the Migration Service
Baku / 04.05.18 / Turan: The new head of the State Migration Service (SMS), Vusal Huseynov started his new position with serious layoffs, Turan was informed by Nadir Ismayilov, head of the public relations department of the SMSю
Rovshan Safarov, Head of the Main Department for Migration Control, his deputy is Head of the Department for Eliminating Opportunities for Illegal Migration; Gudrat Mammadov; Head of the Main Department for Analysis of Migration Processes and Information Support Mehman Safarov were dismissed from their posts. Among the dismissed are also the head of the internal security department and his deputy - the head of the detention center for illegal migrants and two other employees of the Migration Service.
On May 4 the SMS did not deny this information, asked to call later, because in the evening the Service held a meeting. There is no information on dismissals in the official website of the SMS.
Vyasal Afghan oglu Huseynov (born in 1980) was appointed to the post of the head of the State Migration Service by presidential decree of April 23, 2018. -0-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
