Why Did Ilham Aliyev Not Ask Putin about Transfer of Iskanders to Armenia?
On October 7 at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev there was a telephone conversation between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia.
As the press service of the head of Azerbaijan said, Aliyev congratulated Putin on his birthday and the victory of the ruling party United Russia in the elections to the State Duma.
In response, Putin congratulated Aliyev on the results of the referendum on 26 September, describing it as popular support for the government policy.
The sides also touched upon the development of the bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with their level and confidence in their further successful progress, according to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.
From the report by the press service an impression appears that the head of state was not interested in the question of why the Russian President gave Iskander missile systems to Armenia for free. -02D-
