Yerevan has finally agreed to recognize territorial integrity of Azerbaijan /UPDATED/
Baku/07.10.22/Turan: Following the results of the second round of the meeting in Prague with the participation of the Presidents of France, the European Council, Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, an agreement was reached on mutual recognition of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In practice, this should mean that Armenia returns the territories and 7 villages of the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan occupied in the early 90s.
In turn, Azerbaijan should withdraw to the line occupied by its armed forces until May 2022.
But the most important thing is that Armenia recognized Karabakh's belonging to Azerbaijan.
The Prague statement also does not mention any status of Karabakh.
Note that the statement says nothing about the fate of three Azerbaijani and one Armenian enclaves. In all appearances, the parties will decide their fate by exchanging territories, and these issues will be in the focus of the meeting of the bilateral commission on border delimitation at the end of October.
During the first round of the meeting, Aliyev and Pashinyan were presented with a draft statement, which they approved at a second meeting that took place late in the evening on October 6. The Foreign Ministers of both countries also attended the second round. -02B-

Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to mutually recognize the borders at the time of the collapse of the USSR
Baku/07.10.22/Turan: Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to mutually recognize each other's territorial integrity at the time of the collapse of the USSR.
This is stated in a joint statement by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, France and the head of the EU Council in Prague, which was adopted last night after many hours of negotiations.
"Armenia and Azerbaijan confirmed their commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the Alma Ata 1991 Declaration, through which both recognize each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"They confirmed it would be a basis for the work of the border delimitation commissions and that the next meeting of the border commissions would take place in Brussels by the end of October.
"There was an agreement by Armenia to facilitate a civilian EU mission alongside the border with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan agreed to cooperate with this mission as far as it is concerned.
"The mission will start in October for a maximum of two months. The aim of this mission is to build confidence and, through its reports, to contribute to the border commissions," the statement reads.
The Almaty Declaration was signed on December 21, 1991. It actually formalized the collapse of the USSR and proclaimed the creation of the CIS. The states that signed the declaration pledged to recognize and respect the territorial integrity of each other and the inviolability of the borders existing at that time. The declaration was signed by 12 republics of the former USSR.-0-
