He said that he earns for life by seasonal work, working in many countries of the former Soviet Union. He had blood cancer and he had to go for treatment to Georgia, as there treatment is cheaper than in his native Uzbekistan.
On September 24, he planned to leave Tbilisi to the next seasonal work in Bashkiria, but there were not direct flight. At Tbilisi airport he was told that there is a flight from Yerevan to Bashkiria. After that, by car Otamdzhonov reached the borders of Armenia, but he was detained on the border. Before September 27, he was interrogated and even tortured and humiliated. The reason for such attitude was the stamp in his passport on two and a half months in Baku in seasonal work. On September 26, he was forced to sign a paper in the Armenian language, and he was unaware of its content. On September 27, he was returned to Georgia, and took away his $450.
"The purpose of my visit to Baku is to refute information widespread by the Armenian side. I intend to complain to the international human rights organization in connection with the inhuman treatment in Armenia," said Otamdzhonov.
On October 10 the National Security Service of Armenia stated that on September 24 an Uzbek citizen, Zalimdzhon Otadzhonov, appealed to them and said that he was willing to carry out a terrorist attack in Baku for $20,000. He explained that Baku an employer deceived him and refused to pay for the work. National Security Council announced Otadzhonov an Azerbaijani agent and deported him. -05C04-
