Arif Hajili: Musavat to Remain United
The Charter of the party Musavat does not imply the existence of factions, the leader of the opposition party, Arif Hajili told Turan.
Commenting on reports of a split within the party, he said that after the September Congress some of its members were dissatisfied with the results of the forum.
"But now the situation is changing and the intra-party relations are stabilized and normalized," said Hajili.
Recall that some members of the party did not agree with the results of the election of a new head of Musavat and suggested the creation of factions.
Is it possible the party will split? On this question Hajili said: "There are some unhappy people. It is possible that several people will leave the party. However, no split will happen," said Hajili.
Musavat acts in accordance with the Charter and this document does not provide for penalties for criticism. Even criticism of decisions already taken is not considered a violation of the Charter.
However, if steps are made in violation of the Charter, then, of course, appropriate structures will consider this issue," he said.
What is Hajili’s attitude to the opponents’ proposal to hold a new Congress?
In answering this question, Hajili said that in the near future there is no need to conduct a new Congress of the party.
Refusal of Musavat to participate in the municipal elections on December 23 was explained by Hajili with the fact that municipalities do not have sufficient authority to implement local power and solve problems of the population. On the other hand, there is no public confidence that the electoral process will be honest.
Therefore, Musavat as a party will not participate in the elections, but the members of the organization are free to nominate their candidates.
At the same time, the party intends to participate in the parliamentary elections next year, and will seek to hold them in a democratic environment, with the implementation of an electoral reform, said Arif Hajili. -03C06-
