Isa Gambar: opposition does not need single opposition candidate
Spontaneous natural discontent of the population is more good for the Azerbaijani authorities, than controlled civilian protests, which are harder to cope with, said the leader of the party "Musavat" Isa Gambar in an interview with "Objective TV".
He believes that the arrests of Tofig Yagublu , Deputy Head of the party, and Ilgar Mamedov, the leader of ReAL is due to the government’s fears that it is more difficult to control civil protest. However, this is "double-edged sword" - if the government does not want to give the controls to political opponents, they may face un controllable processes.
People are dissatisfied with lawlessness, permissiveness officials. MPs supposedly representing the people in the illegitimate parliament, is an appendage to the authorities. Bribery, corruption, unemployment, injustice to the masses.
The best way out of the situation would be dialogue of the authorities with civil society and the opposition, and the government should be more interested in this. However, in reality society faces regular promises of the President. Statements like: "I will punish the corrupt, brazen officials and their offspring; Clear sheets from cars" are made not for the first time. Now we can add one more - "I know everything." Finally, the company heard it. Then there is another question: why there is not an adequate response?
To dismiss some heads of executive powers is not the way out. It is necessary to change the political system, and the head of state can not do.
Democratic forces responsible for the future force should come to power. Thereare such forces among political opposition, and if they unite during October presidential election, together, they can change the situation. They should not repeat the mistake of 2003 - then all political leaders have relied on the opposition, which led to a split. There is not necessity to discuss about a single candidate from the opposition, at any rate the CEC will register the right amount of "pocket" politicians, says Qambar.
Leader of "Musavat" believes that to win elections you need to determine "the full spectrum of real opposition leaders." Soon another force “EL” Movement will also come, which announced a playwright, Rustam Ibrahimbekov; political leader of the Movement is Namazov.
Today, extraneous topics are deliberately thrown into society, repression against opposition leaders and civil society grows. However, it will not prevent them win the fight against a totalitarian regime.
In case if the opposition wins the election, the priority will be civil freedom, social rehabilitation of the population and territorial integrity, Gambar said. -17D—
