Jamil Hasanli: Election campaign is not in Equal Conditions
“My political struggle is the way of Rasulzade and Elchibay. This is the way associated with our national destiny. This is a moral policy which meets our national interests,” at 61- years-old, Jamil Hasanli, the single new presidential candidate of the National Council, said in an interview with "Objective TV".
According to him, the way of Rasulzade and Elchibay is the way of national independence, democracy, and prosperity of the people, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Hasanli is convinced that in the victory of the democratic forces in the elections. However, he said there is no fair election atmosphere in the country. Despite the stage of the election, the campaign has not yet started, one of the candidates fully utilizes state resources in its favor, increasing salaries and pensions before the elections.
"We are not against the increase of salaries. However, the people of Azerbaijan is worthy of a better standard of living," said Hasanli.
In addition, pro-government TV channels are propagandizing in support of the government candidate.
Hasanli considers unjust the amount of time allocated for pre-election propaganda. There are more than 80 regions, but only 21 days are given for the whole campaign. Hasanli also criticized the Karabakh conflict and the authority’s foreign policy.
If the OSCE Minsk Group fails to resolve the Karabakh conflict, the mechanisms for the preparation for resolutions of the UN Security Council issue should be brought to the UN Security Council level.
On the other hand, the policy of authorities in the media field is aimed at diverting people's attention to entertainment and shows. This policy, based on primitive values, distracts people from the Karabakh problem. Hasanli said that Azerbaijan's foreign policy should be built through the prism of the liberation of occupied territories. For over 20 years, the current government did not manage to liberate even 20 meters of the occupied territories. Hasanli gives priority to Azerbaijan's integration into Europe and NATO.
Despite the large oil revenues of the country, the standard of living of the general population is very low. Salaries and pensions are inadequate to the capabilities of the country, said Hasanli. He also noted that after his nomination, he is under surveillance from unknown persons in civilian clothes. -06D-
