Leyla Yunus: we should proud the courage of NIDA activists

Extremely hard verdict against  NIDA activists on charges  concocted  by  prosecution investigators , including Ibrahim Lemberansky,  a lawsuit  is  another evidence of rigid authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan, Turan was told  in  an interview with  Leyla Yunus, the head of the Institute for Peace and Democracy , a human rights activist, commenting on yesterday's verdict .

"In Soviet times, I was a member of the" Movement of national minorities oppressed by the Bolsheviks" and participated in secret meetings with representatives of the Liberation Movement of Ukraine , Estonia, Lithuania , etc. I remember well the people who served in the camps for 15-20 years. Their courage never ceased to fascinate me. Today I see the same courage, and will of these young guys in the fight for freedom. These guys are condemned as in the period of Stalin , to long prison terms .

I am proud that we in Azerbaijan have such guys. Victory is behind them. I wish their parents health , they should be proud of their sons , they should be proud of all of us," said Yunus.

She also added that  brutal dispersal of the rally by police the youth gathered in front of the court by police,  is a clear evidence of the terrible panic that seized power  before the  growing younger generation.

Police who  beat young girls and guys, breaks all the rules of law , morality , these are people without honor and conscience , says Yunus. - 04B –
