2.5 million foreign tourists visited Azerbaijan over 11 months of 2018
Baku / 24.12.18 / Turan: In January-November 2018, the number of foreigners traveling to Azerbaijan amounted to 2.5 million people.
This is 151000, orby 6% more than it was in the same period of 2017, the state tourism agency reported.
Tourists from Russia, Georgia and the Middle East accounted for 65% of the total number of travelers.
Tourists from Asia traditionally come from Pakistan, India and Turkmenistan, and from the Middle East - the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
During the survey period, the flow of tourists from Iran, which traditionally ranks third after Russia and Georgia, has decreased by 33 percent. -06D--

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
