Baku/25.10.19/Turan: On October 25, a group of women held a rally in front of the US Embassy in Baku.
Women raised posters denouncing police violence against civilians during a rally on October 19.
They also demanded a solution to social problems and condemned corruption in government agencies.
Arriving at the police stations ousted the women, allowing one of the participants to transfer their appeal to the embassy.
“We asked American diplomats to support our efforts to ensure freedom of expression, end police violence against the opposition, and ensure freedom of assembly.
They listened to me and promised to raise these issues at meetings with the Azerbaijani authorities,” a rally participant said after leaving the embassy. -21B-
