A sharp increase in cases of infection with COVID-19
Baku/18.08.21/Turan: Over the past day, 4 129 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Azerbaijan, 968 people have recovered, and 20 have died, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on August 18.
The total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic was 377,304, of which 341,142 were cured, 5,208 died, treatment of 30,954 active patients continues. Over the past day, 17,740 coronavirus tests have been carried out.
Also, 66,519 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were applied per day. At the same time, 52,661 people were vaccinated with the first dose and 13,858 with the second. The total number of vaccines used was 5,932,734.
The number of people vaccinated with the first dose was 3 526 467 people, and with both doses - 2 406 267. –06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
