About 1000 religious structures have state registration in Azerbaijan
Baku/05.01.22/Turan: Since September 1, 2009 (the beginning of the re-registration of religious structures), 971 religious communities have passed state registration in Azerbaijan, a message on the website of the State Committee for Work with Religious Structures.
934 communities are Islamic, 37 are non-Islamic (26 are Christian, 8 are Jewish, 1 is Hare Krishna, 2 are Baha'i).
At the same time, 10 religious educational institutions were registered. On the territory of the country there are 2,253 mosques, 16 - churches, 7 - synagogues. There are 758 sanctuaries and places of pilgrimage in the country.
In the liberated territories, there were 67 mosques, 139 temples, 192 - places of pilgrimage. At the same time, 65 mosques were completely destroyed, two partially. -05D06-
