
Former Health Minister Ali Insanov filed a lawsuit against the head of the Baku Appeal Court, Iman Nagiyev, Turan was told by the plaintiff's lawyer, Togrul Babayev.
In the suit, filed in Baku Administrative - Economical Court Number 1, Insanov requests to declare unlawful the actions by Nagieva to establish in one of the halls a soundproof glass "cage" where Insanov was placed on January 31 while consideration of his complaint on non-executing the decision of the European Court of Human Rights. Insanov believes that he was deprived of the right to an effective protection.
So, on January 31 Insanov could be heard only when the judge turned on a microphone.
These measures were taken after January 17 when Insanov accused Azerbaijani authorities of the organization of political assassinations and other crimes.
Insanov was arrested in October 2005 on charges of attempting a coup d'etat.
He was subsequently sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment on charges of economic crimes. In March 2013 the Strasbourg Court found a violation of Insanov’s rights. In this regard, the plenum of the Supreme Court sent a lawsuit against Insanov for reconsideration to the Baku Appellation Court..—06D-
