Charity Marathon in support of the arrested activists
Baku/04.02.14/Turan : Charity marathon began on Tuesday in the office of PPFA in support of youth activists fined by the court for their participation in the campaign against the tragic death of a war veteran, Zaur Hasanov.
A few hours after the start of the marathon at 16:00 up to 70 people joined it. Among them : the chairman of the National Council, Jamil Hasanli, PFPA leader Ali Kerimli , chairman of Classic Popular Front Party, Mirmahmud Miralioglu. A few hours 1300 manat were collected.
Ali Kerimli noted that the fines against youth activists is for intimidating and repress their political activity. He called on the youth of the country to support their peers. Marathon will last several days. -05C04-

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
