Ali Kerimli: the authorities take revenge
"Musavat" party issued a statement in connection with the director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, Leyla Yunus and Arif Yunus. The statement authors pay attention to the pressure exerted on the winner of many international awards Leyla Yunus and her husband Arif Yunus.
The statement noted that the inhuman treatment and immoral actions against Yunus are beyond all limits.
The authors of the statement called a legal nihilism the ban on this family to leave the country without any charges. The authors condemn the illegal actions against Leyla Yunus and her husband require the authorities to put an end to this outrage and punish illegal acts committed against Yunus.
"They (the authorities) are unmasked. They openly and loudly declare that there are not any impassible red lines. The authorities detained Leyla Yunus, and show by this immorality, violate not only legislation, but also frequently abused their national mentality. Once again, they show that there is nothing sacred for them," wrote Ali Kerimli , the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA ) on his page on Facebook.com. In his view , the government openly takes revenge.
" They take revenge because Yunus fearlessly defends the rights of political prisoners , the property rights of citizens whose homes were demolished by authorities. subjecting her to repression, they want to scare others and even eliminate the Institute of human rights activist in the country. Russia has mixed in the region, and oil and gas again became important to the West. They want to take advantage of temporarily opportunity to weaken the democratic camp.
But it will not work. It is impossible to intimidate socio-political activists. They know who are struggling against, and for what they are struggling," said Kerimli.—0--
