An attempt to smuggle weapons and drugs from Iran has been prevented - the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Baku/14.04.23/Turan: Employees of the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs prevented the smuggling of a Kalashnikov assault rifle and narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, weapons and drugs were transported to Baku International Commercial Sea Port in Garadagh district. While trying to take weapons and drugs, a man named Orkhan Azizaliyev was detained. Before that, he kept in touch with an Iranian named "Nadir".
During the investigation, it was established that Orkhan Aziz Aliyev is a former employee of one of the private security companies. A criminal case has been opened in fact, the report says.
However, it is not clear from the message how the weapons and drugs ended up in the Garadagh district, who and how took them there? Nothing is reported about amount of drugs, except that it was methamphetamine. ---0---
