Announcements on Behalf of I. Aliyev and His Family about an "Investment Program" are Fake
Materials posted on several fake social media accounts on behalf of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his family members, calling on citizens to invest in a certain "investment program," are fake information. This was stated in a report by the Media Development Agency and the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security.
The report indicates that the fake "interview," created by imitating the design of the website of one of Azerbaijan's news agencies, is part of systematic, targeted attacks aimed at polluting the country's information environment.
The press release calls on citizens to trust information provided only by official bodies. Measures are being taken in connection with the appearance of such fake materials, and the sources of their distribution are being investigated, the press release concluded.
