November 6 at 16:00 due to the collapse of a marine base one employee of SOCAR was killed, another is being looked for, and three more were saved, the company said.
The collapse of the 60-meter overpass occurred between bases №№ 310 OGPD named after N.Narimanov of the Azneft Production Union. The collapse destroyed a pipe with diameter of 250 mm.
To prevent a larger disaster the OGPD five staff were sent to the base number 307, which blocked the gas distribution battery that prevents the danger of fire or leakage of oil into the sea. When they returned, the dangerous base collapsed, and the people also fell into the water.
During the rescue three people were rescued. One died. Search continues for one more person.
To investigate the incident a special commission has been created.
Recall that on October 23 there was also a collapse of the sea base on the same OGPD, killing four people. -0-
