ANS decided to seek justice in the next world
Baku/17.05.17/Turan: The leadership of the licensed TV station ANS appealed to the president of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, who died in 2003, asking for help. Such a strange appeal is published on the website of Radio Azadlig, blocked by the authorities a few weeks ago. "We apologize for disturbing your spirit, but you yourself said that if it's difficult, contact me," the appeal says.
For more than 10 months, the television channel has been closed, and all appeals to the top were unanswered.
There is also a reproach to the current head of state, whom ANS "considered his friend and guarantor of democratic freedoms, but to which their voice does not reach." The appeal lists the merits of the television channel, which its creators call "a model of honesty and decency."
Referring again to Heydar Aliyev, who died 14 years ago, the authors of the appeal remarked meaningfully: "We are following your path."
Recall that the channel was denied a license on the recommendation of the National TV and Radio Council. The basis of the suit in the court was the accusation of the channel in the propaganda of terrorism and damage to relations with Turkey. The reason for this was the preparation of an interview with US preacher Fatullah Gülen and statements on the air of the TV channel that Erdogan himself is to blame for the attempt of a coup.
Currently, the office of the TV channel, located in the building of the Institute of Zoology of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, is sealed. The Academy administration demanded to vacate the premises and submitted an appropriate appeal to the prosecutor's office. -02D-
