Armenia's chances for maneuver narrows – deputy
Baku/07,04.22/Turan: It will become more difficult for Armenia to continue to delay the process of resolving issues of border delimitation, unblocking communications, and signing a peace agreement, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations, political scientist Rasim Musabekov, told commenting on the results of the Brussels meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The question of creating a joint commission on the delimitation of the border was raised almost a year ago. However, Yerevan avoided this. Now, a specific deadline for the creation of the commission has been indicated - until the end of April.
According to the parliamentarian, Armenia's possibilities for maneuvers are shrinking. “Armenia understands that the geopolitical situation is changing not in its favor. On the other hand, the Armenians expect help from the EU. In such a situation, they only have to behave smarter,” the parliamentarian noted. In his opinion, a council on transport and economic issues should also be created.
True, now Azerbaijan has agreed with Iran on the construction of the Zangezur corridor through its territory. But Baku did not close the doors for Armenia either. Therefore, within the framework of the joint structure, the issue of transportation, tariffs in the Zangezur corridor and other economic issues can be discussed, the MP further noted.
The most important outcome of the Brussels meeting, the parliamentarian called the instructions of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to begin work on the text of the peace agreement.
“All this testifies to the fact that it will no longer be possible (for the Armenian side) to chat about the issues in general terms,” the deputy summed up. –16В-
