Avaz Zeynally needs urgent eye surgery
Baku/30.01.23/Turan: Journalist Avaz Zeynally, who is detained in the pre-trial detention center, needs urgent surgery to remove his cataract;, however, no conditions are created for it. His wife Malahat Gisuri told Turan about it.
According to her, the family has applied for the surgery at the state service security hospital or at a civilian clinic. The family is advised to be patient, after which the issue will be resolved.
She noted that even before Zeynally's arrest, an operation was scheduled, but because of the arrest, it did not take place.
Recall that Zeynally also suffers from hypertension and diabetes mellitus. "Violation of his rights to phone calls and family visits worsens his well-being despite of medicines given to him, his wife said.
Last Tuesday, she held a protest in front of the investigation department of the Prosecutor General's Office demanding that Zeynalla's rights be ensured.
"The deputy head of the mentioned department promised to look into the issue and resolve it within 2-3 days. However, nearly a week has passed but no progress has been made. Until Avaz's rights are secured, I will hold a rally every Tuesday in front of the Prosecutor's Office.
Tomorrow we will hold a protest at 11:00 a.m. again. Friends and acquaintances will join me," Ghisuri said.
