Azerbaijani citizens detained in St. Petersburg
About 300 people were detained in St. Petersburg during yesterday's operation by the FSB, the Center for Extremism Prevention and Investigation Committee in a criminal case. As Rosbalt said, 271 people are tested for involvement in terrorist activities. Among them are citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, North Caucasus, as well as Egypt and Afghanistan.
Ten detainees found documents with evidence of forgery, 20 individuals have no documents. Six people were deported.
During the operation, they arrested Murat Sarbash, born in 1988, native of Kabardino-Balkaria, a resident without registration. He is suspected of placing in the period from October 2010 to April 2011 in the online extremist literature and videos depicting acts of terrorism.
Azerbaijani Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the embassy in Moscow have not yet commented the event. -16D-
