Azerbaijani Grooms and Tajik Brides Take Centre Stage in Saratov's Marriage Trends
In an intriguing revelation from the heart of Russia's Saratov region, the local Registry Office has reported a notable shift in marriage trends this year. According to Yulia Ponomareva, the head of the Registry Office of the regional government, residents of the Saratov region have increasingly tied the knot with partners hailing from Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
During a live broadcast, Ponomareva disclosed that a total of 13,072 marriages have been solemnized this year. Delving into unions with foreigners, Saratov women have predominantly chosen Azerbaijani partners, with 48 grooms from Azerbaijan, followed by 32 from Armenia and 20 from Kazakhstan. Conversely, Saratov men exhibited a preference for Tajik brides, numbering 56, with 35 brides from Azerbaijan, 28 from Armenia, and 18 from Kazakhstan.
According to the publication "Version Saratov", the average age of brides and grooms this year is 23 and 24, respectively, indicating a relatively youthful demographic engaging in marital unions.
As Saratov continues to reflect evolving marriage and family dynamics, the intersection of cultures and traditions through international unions adds a unique layer to the region's vibrant social tapestry.
