Bakhtiyar Hajiyev continues hunger strike for 12 days
Baku/26.12.22/Turan: Public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev has been on hunger strike for 12 days in the Baku pre-trial detention center - 1, lawyer Shahla Gumbatova, who visited him on Monday, said.
According to her, Hajiyev's health is deteriorating. After entering the pre-trial detention center and starting a hunger strike, he lost 6 kg and now weighs 78 kg. His blood pressure is 90/60.
Hajiyev said that if his demand for release was not met, he would go on a dry hunger strike. He also expects great support from the local and international community. Hajiyev also condemned his insults on the pro-government TV channel.
Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai District Court arrested him for 1 month and 20 days. On December 15, Hajiyev announced a promise to go on an indefinite hunger strike demanding his release from custody. ----06B---
