Bakhtiyar Hajiyev's mother appealed to the Ombudswoman
Baku/01.02.23/Turan: Solida Movlayeva, the mother of social activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, today visited the ombudsman's office to draw attention to the health of her son, who has been on a hunger strike for 24 days in Baku pre-trial detention center-1.
“I was received by Ibrahim Abdullayev from the general department,” Movlayeva told Turan.
“I told about the state of Bakhtiyar and that he is not guilty. His health is deteriorating every day and I am very worried about his life,” said the woman.
She urged them to take a serious interest in Bakhtiyar's condition and that the Ombudswoman personally visit him.
“I was told that they would inform the ombudswoman about this and they would answer me within a short time,” Movlayeva said.
The Ombudsman's office told Turan that detailed information would be provided on this issue.
* Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai District Court arrested him for 1 month and 20 days. On December 15, Hajiyev went on a hunger strike demanding his release. On December 28, he ended his hunger strike after persistent calls from the public and family members. However, on January 9, he resumed his hunger strike after the appeal court refused to release him and continues to this day.
On January 21, the court extended Hajiyev's arrest for another 1 month. ---21B06---
