Baku Weather Forecast: Dry Conditions Expected with Cold Temperatures Across Azerbaijan

The National Hydrometeorology Service of Azerbaijan has forecast a mostly dry and cold day across the country on February 11, with occasional cloud cover in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.

According to the service, the capital and surrounding areas will experience variable cloudiness with occasional overcast conditions, but no significant precipitation is expected. Light drizzle is possible in some suburban areas in the morning. A northwesterly wind will blow, with temperatures ranging from -1°C to +2°C at night and rising to 3-6°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be above normal at 772 mm Hg, and relative humidity will range between 70-80%.

Across Azerbaijan’s regions, the weather will generally remain dry, with occasional fog in some areas. A moderate easterly wind is expected. Nighttime temperatures will range between -1°C and -6°C, while daytime highs will reach 5-10°C. In mountainous areas, nighttime temperatures will drop to -5°C to -10°C, with higher-altitude regions seeing lows between -13°C and -18°C. Daytime temperatures in these areas are expected to stay between 0°C and -5°C.

Authorities have warned of possible icy road conditions in mountainous areas overnight and in the early morning.

In Nakhchivan, including the cities of Culfa, Ordubad, Sədərək, Şahbuz, and Şərur, dry weather is expected, with occasional fog and an easterly wind. Temperatures will range from -5°C to -10°C at night, warming to 5-10°C during the day.

Similar dry conditions are forecast for Khankendi, Shusha, Khojaly, Khojavend, Fuzuli, Agdam, as well as Dashkasan-Gedabey and Goygol. Fog is expected at times, with an easterly wind. Temperatures will range from -3°C to -8°C at night, with daytime temperatures fluctuating between -2°C and +3°C. Ice formation on roads is possible overnight and early in the morning.

In Eastern Zangezur, including Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Lachin, and Zangilan, mostly dry conditions will prevail, with occasional fog and a moderate easterly wind. Temperatures will drop to -3°C to -8°C at night, reaching -14°C in higher-altitude areas, while daytime temperatures will range between -3°C and +2°C.

The forecast for Ganja, Qazakh, Samukh, Goranboy, Tartar, Shamkir, Tovuz, and Naftalan also indicates dry conditions, with occasional fog and a moderate easterly wind. Temperatures will range from 0°C to -5°C at night and rise to 5-8°C during the day.

In the northern and northwestern regions, including Balakan, Zaqatala, Qax, Sheki, Oghuz, Gabala, Ismayilli, Agsu, Shamakhi, Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Quba, Khachmaz, and Qusar, dry weather is expected with occasional fog and a moderate easterly wind. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -3°C to -8°C, while daytime highs will reach 3-8°C. In mountainous areas, temperatures will fall to -8°C to -13°C at night, and -13°C to -18°C at higher altitudes, with daytime temperatures remaining between 0°C and -5°C.

The central and southern lowland regions, including Yevlakh, Agdash, Kurdamir, Imishli, Aghjabadi, Barda, Beylagan, Sabirabad, Mingachevir, Bilasuvar, Saatli, Goychay, Ujar, Shirvan, Hajigabul, Zardab, Salyan, and Neftchala, will also experience dry weather, with occasional fog and a moderate easterly wind. Temperatures are expected to range from -1°C to -6°C at night and rise to 5-10°C during the day.

In the southeastern regions, including Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Lankaran, Astara, Bilasuvar, and Jalilabad, dry conditions will prevail with occasional fog and a north-easterly wind. Nighttime temperatures will range from 0°C to -5°C, while daytime highs will reach 5-8°C. In mountainous areas, nighttime temperatures will drop to -5°C to -10°C, with daytime temperatures fluctuating between 0°C and -3°C.

Authorities have advised caution for drivers in mountainous regions due to the potential for icy roads overnight and in the early morning.
