Body of Azerbaijani sailor killed by pirates delivered to Baku
Baku/27.01.21/Turan: The body of the Azerbaijani sailor Farman Ismayilov, who was killed during an attack by sea pirates on the MOZART ship off the coast of Nigeria, was delivered to Baku. The plane with Ismayilov's body landed at the Baku airport in the morning of January 27.
Yesterday, with the support of the Turkish Embassy in Gabon, Ismailov's body was sent by a TY Istanbul-Liberville flight. The plane arrived in Istanbul on the night of January 26-27 at 03:30 local time.
The Liberian-flagged container ship MOZART was attacked by sea pirates 180 miles off the coast of Lagos, Nigeria two days earlier.
The pirates took hostage 15 crewmembers - citizens of Turkey.
An ethnic Azeri crewmember was killed in the skirmish, Anadolu news agency reported. -0-.
