Campaign in defense of Saleh Rustamov spreads in social networks
Baku/24.11.21/Turan: Recognized as a political prisoner, the former head of the executive power of the Gadabay region, Karabakh war veteran Saleh Rustamov is on hunger strike for 19 days, demanding his release from prison.
A group of young activists launched a campaign on social media calling on President Ilham Aliyev to release Rustamov under the hashtag #FreeSalehRustemov.
Note that young people make video appeals, distribute photos and demand the convict's release.
* Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) supporter Saleh Rustamov was arrested in May 2018 and sentenced to 7 years 3 months of imprisonment in the so-called "illegal financing of the PPFA" case. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. Subsequently, the Supreme Court reduced his sentence by 2 months. Since November 6th he has been on an open-ended hunger-strike demanding his release. -30D06-
