CEC determines the schedule of the election campaign
The Central Election campaign defined schedule for the stages of the election campaign for the election of deputies in the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis on November 1st.
The calendar plan of main actions and events connected with the preparation and conduct of elections to the parliament of the fifth convocation, was approved by the CEC on August 29 and published in the official press on Sunday.
Elections are held by the majority system in 125 single-member districts.
Candidates may be nominated by citizens of self, initiative groups of voters, political parties, blocs of political parties.
For the registration of candidates, each bidder must gather in his district at least 450 signatures of voters. Deadline for submission of documents for registration at 18:00 on October 2, 30 days before the voting day.
The decision on registration or refusal of registration of candidates shall be made within 7 days after the submission of documents of applicants to the district election commission.
Election campaign will begin on October 9, which ends at 08:00 the day before the election - 31 October.
Voting on election day begins at 08:00 and ends at 19:00.
During the day the election the CEC provides preliminary data on the number of voters five times a day: at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00.
After the closure of the precincts the election commission shall within 24 hours deliver reports on the results of elections in the district election commissions.
Minutes on the results of elections should be delivered to the CEC within 48 hours after election day - not later than November 3.
Until November 21 CEC must check the results, and pass them within 48 hours for the approval by the Constitutional Court, which, in turn, within 10 days will announce the results. -06D—
