Counsel fined at trial of Ismayilli events
Today in Sheki at the trial of the Ismayilli events, the testimony of the victims and the prosecution witnesses continued. In particular, a police officer Rashad Ahmedov gave evidence.
However, the defendant Ilgar Mamedov protested, saying that Ahmedov is not a victim and there is no medical evidence that he received any injuries.
The lawyer Fuad Agayev said that he would make a written complaint. Later, he read a statement, pointing to the impossibility of protecting the rights of the accused as the court dismisses all petitions, and the witnesses present in the room are prompted by the prosecutor. In this regard, the lawyer required removal of the court.
However, the judge rejected the challenge and fined Agayev at 220 manat for "obstruction of the trial."
Thereafter, the meeting continued. During the break, one of the accused Sakhavat Samedov told Turan that at the previous meeting, a police officer Rauf Karimov gave false evidence against him. In protest against this on the night of January 10 Samedov attempted suicide by trying to hang himself. However, his cellmate overturned the stool and saved him.
Recall that in the dock on charges of rioting in Ismayilli there are 18 people, including the head of the movement REAL Ilgar Mamedov and the deputy chairman of Musavat Tofig Yagublu. They are accused of organizing or participating in riots in Ismayilli on 23-24 January 2013. -06D-
