Court of Appeal to Reconsider Complaint from Bayram Mammadov
Baku / 08.04.19 / Turan: A young civil society activist from NIDA, Bayram Mammadov, who is serving a 30-day administrative arrest sentence in jail, was visited by his father and lawyer on April 8.
According to his father Farman Mammadov, the activist still has health problems after torture. The young man has symptoms of concussion - dizziness, vomiting, and headaches. He needs treatment.
Meanwhile, in the coming days, an appeal against the arrest of the activist will be considered again. The complaint filed by the lawyer has already been dismissed by the Court of Appeal. However, now the complaint that Mammadov himself submitted will be considered.
* Recall that Bayram Mammadov was arrested for 30 days on March 29 on charges of insubordination to the police. The arrest took place two weeks after Mammadov was pardoned by the head of state. He served a 10-year sentence on drug charges. However, the real reason for the arrest, according to human rights activists, was the writing of political slogans on the pedestal of the monument to Heydar Aliyev. -06B-
