The law of jungles

The Internet-segment of the country marked two news in the last weekend: a coming-into-being of a 10 millionth citizen, rather a female citizen - kiddy Mehriban, and a death of her fellow-countrywoman, a little darling - 14-year old Elina Hajiyeva.

Fireworks and concerts in honor of the jubilee female citizen are a good cause; however, the question at issue is that sounds of salutes echoed on a day when Elina was buried.

Having dived headfirst from a window of the secondary school №162, Elina kept alive but lived not long. At first, doctors diagnosed pelvis and thorax injury and promised a girl"s mother to transfer her to floor next day, failed to save her life.

It should be highlighted that a girl"s action was a protest against ragging of classmates; against indifference of parents of tormentors and protest against non-interference of teachers, a director of teaching and a head of school.

At first, the girl tried to protest, cut classes; however, protest fell flat. In words of girl"s school friend, she repeatedly attended the school head, Sevinj Abbasova, complaining of relentless persecution of classmates, maltreatment of biology teacher Leyla Michailovna; however, the latter wafted away as saying that we have no timeto interfere with your acting crazy. However, in fact many people knew about mockeries, miscalling, kicks, etc..

The girl was self-contained, internalized everything, as a consequence she passed away. The society we live in is cruel, intolerant to the one standing out of the crowd, especially for the better! Such a person will be driven away by kicking or be equalized: be square or die!

Bringing herself to audacious move, Elina took a package of "Ketonifen" drug, and she was not in it. Setting apart tired allegations on juvenile maximalism and awkward age, there is horror a 14-year old juvenile is seeking to die. Rhetoric questions arise: Who is to blame and what is to be done?

The tragedy was followed by the school director"s condolence over the Elina"s death; she added that "Elina has always been under the school leadership"s supervision; discussions were held with the girl and her mother; specific requests were made to appropriate structures".

However, if what is said by Elina"s a girlfriend is true, the school authorities threatened that if she fails to fall silent , they will do their utmost to pin on her the girl"s death. An impression is that we are in Sicilia, not at school, in the freewheeling 1990s or watching a feature film "The devil-fish" where the sadly remembered Cosa Nostra is bossing the show. At any rate, the school authorities and the teaching staff are directly responsible for the death of the underage.

Note that the Ministry of Education responded curiously to the tragedy as saying that law-enforcement bodiers are engaged in investigating the event.

Added to this can be that the education department of Baku initiated an internal investigation, and a procurator"s office of Sabayil district launched a criminal case under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic (incitement to suicide).

It should be remembered that Elina jumped down from a school building window , not from her own home"s window, and this circumstance sets someone thinking.

Elina"s mother, Sevil Hajiyeva charged with apathy by school teachers notes that her daughter had problems, wept after hours; however, she got to the truth after the tragedy only.

All were silent; all closed their eyes on impending disaster paying with fine speeches like "all will be well".

As for Elina"s case, these mantras failed to work. The society living under the law of jungles where the strongman makes light of the weakling; where the demobee showboats the fresh meat, cannot forge onwards. A question arises: Who is to blame? - An answer is Rest of us. In pursuit of material benefits we have given up on moral values and mercy plighted by Weiner Bros.
