Criminal investigation into embezzlement in Agroleasing
The Prosecutor General Office for Combating Corruption opened a criminal case on charges of theft, identified in JSC Agroleasing located in the department of the Ministry of Agriculture.
As stated in the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the inspection revealed evidence of fraud on the part of those responsible in Agroleasing in 2011-13 during the operation of buying and selling.
At the same time, there was illegal and inappropriate use of budgetary funds allocated for procurement.
A criminal case was filed under Article 308.2 (abuse of power) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code.
No one has been arrested yet. The violations were identified as a result of the Audit Chamber checking and submitted to prosecutors.
The report by the prosecutors noted that the leadership of the company was not aware of the fraud. Why they made such an optimistic conclusion is not clear. The approximate amount of the theft and fraud has not been reported either.
According to unofficial sources, the theft occurred during operations on the acquisition of agricultural machinery and fertilizers.
