Baku / 09.01.19 / Turan: Four employees of the State Customs Service are criminally liable for official forgery, bribe taking, smuggling and other crimes.
The arrests took place back in December, but the information was made public by the State Customs Committee only on January 8.
As stated in the press release of the State Customs Committee, on December 6, 2018, the Main Operational Investigation Department of Customs detained: the head of the customs post office, Ismail Abdullayev, his deputy Rashad Rzayev, the senior inspector Sabuhi Huseynov, and the senior inspector of the technical control department Elizbar Rahimov.
They are accused of criminal conspiracy with persons operating in the field of electronic commerce.
A criminal case was initiated under the following articles: 313 (official forgery), 312 (bribery), 311 (receiving a bribe), and 308 (abuse of official authority) and 206 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The collected materials were sent to the Prosecutor General's Office, the State Customs Committee said in a statement.
Note that the customs post office was created at the airport, which created problems for the development of electronic commerce. Thus, the delivery of orders of ordinary citizens through e-commerce has not been resolved. For example, if someone from the province orders a mobile phone via e-commerce, then in order to receive it, he should turn not to the local post office, as it was before, but to arrive in Baku at the Postal Transportation Center of the customs service. -03B06-
