Democratic revolution is approaching like a forest fire, Insanov (UPDATED)

Baku/26.04.17/Turan: In his last speech in the court Ali Insanov rejected charges against him, and stated about the political nature of his case. Before the meeting, while in the iron cage, Insanov told Turan: "My  health is good. Every day I go in for sports for an hour," he said.

Answering a question about his attitude towards him, he said: "The attitude towards me is similar to the attitude toward the Jew in the death camps of Hitler ... However, those who want to see the broken Insanov will not see it," he added. Insanov noted that the term, named by the prosecutor, means that they want to deprive him of the opportunity to take part in two more presidential elections. However, the democratic revolution "is approaching  Azerbaijan like wildfires." "Let our king and queen think about it," Insanov said.

Turning to the prosecutor and the judge, he said: "The time will come and you will also be evaluated. Today you laugh, but when the verdict is tolerated by others, you will not want to laugh." Further, state prosecutor Faraim Huseynli stated that the court proved Insanov's guilt, and there are no mitigating circumstances in his case and he should be convicted.

The victim, Major of Justice Anar Mammadov also called on to punish Insanov. Attorney Shahverdi Agavies said that the sole purpose of the new court against Insanov is not to release him after 11 years in prison. The court was biased and based on fabricated evidence. Lawyer Togrul Babayev also stated his prejudiced attitude towards Insanov.

"Even those who sell kilograms of drugs are not imprisoned to eight years," Babayev said. He drew attention to the fact that the investigation did not establish how much damage was done to the victim's health if he calmly gave testimony in the prosecutor's office two days later. After a short meeting, the court ordered Insanov to be sentenced to seven  years  and  five days of imprisonment  with a strict regime prison. The defense intends to file an appeal against the verdict.-03C06--
