Baku / 27.06.18 / Turan: Residents of the Lankaran region Mammad Mammadov and Agshin Kerimov were detained on suspicion of illegal drug trafficking.
According to the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, on June 24, the arrival of a Volkswagen car decorated for a wedding celebration was recorded in the coastal border zone near the Vel village of the Lankaran region. The car arrived at night and stopped at 10-15 meters from the seashore. One of the passengers of the car came out and soon returned with a full sack, which raised suspicions among the border guards who detained the people in the car.
From the bag put in the car, 8 kg 405 grams of drugs was withdrawn, including 6 kg 115 grams of opium, 250 grams of methamphetamine, 1 kg of hashish, and 1 kg of heroin.
