Ecological Park to Be Planted on Shikhov Slope
The executive power of the Sabail district of Baku in conjunction with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources started to implement a project to create 50 hectares of ecological park on the Shikhov slope in the Bibiheybat settlement. According to the executive power, one main and two auxiliary water tanks have already been installed. For irrigation, which will be in a drip method, basic and auxiliary lines 3.7 and 3.9 km long respectively have been installed, as well as two high pressure water pumps and new power lines.
The Ministry plans to plant 150,000 trees, 30,000 of which have already been planted. The remaining trees will be planted throughout the season. Caring for trees during the year will be employees of the executive branch. On the gentle slope the trees mainly adapted to local conditions will be planted, such as the Eldar pine, the oleander and other tree species. Environmentalists argue that the project would be the best and success for Bibi-Heybat Bay, which has environmental problems, and in general for the capital.
The project envisages the expansion of the Ecological Park along the slope towards the water stadium.
