Editor of the site asks to remove the ban on leaving the country
Baku / 31.05.19 / Turan: The head of the portal "Gununsesi" (Gununsesi.info), a former "prisoner of conscience" Parviz Hashimli appealed to the prosecutor general to help unblock this site and lift the ban on his travel abroad.
The site was blocked in Azerbaijan after the Ganja events of July 2018 due to publications on this topic. In addition, a ban was imposed on leaving Hashimli from the country.
Hashimli tried to meet with the Prosecutor General when he visited Ganja on May 24. However, the journalist was not allowed to see Garalov, although he made an appointment in advance.
Hashimli points out that his site published materials about the Ganja events in accordance with the requirements of the law "On Mass Media". At the same time, a large place was given to official reports.
Hashimli himself was interrogated among several journalists at the Baku Prosecutor"s Office, after which a ban was imposed on his foreign trips.
According to the official responses from the Ministry of Communications and the operator of the main Internet provider Delta Telekom, they did not block his website. -06B-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
