Families of the missing oil workers protest
In the morning on February 11 the families of the oil missing after the tragedy at the offshore platform "Gunashli" protested in front of the Administration of the President. Twenty five relatives and friends of some 20 missing oil workers complained of ineffectiveness of conducted searches. The protesters were directed to the SOCAR’s president Rovnag Abdullayev, but they were received by the Vice-President Khalig Mammadov. This angered the relatives of the mission oilmen , and they returned to the presidential administration.
"We hope only for the head of state, and do not believe any others," said a reporter Esmira Ahmadova, a relative of one of the missing oil workers.
By 14:00 o'clock the close relatives waiting for an answer from the presidential administration, went to Mehriban Aliyeva , the head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
On December 4 as a result of the storm starteda fire at the "Guneshli". Of the 64 people, half were evacuated. Part of the remaining persons were saved, but about 30 people with a lifeboat fell into the sea. Some time later, the bodies of 13 oilmen were found, the rest are still missing,
On the same day three oilmen in the field "Oil Rocks"also fell into the see. Later, the body of one of them was found.-05B-
