Fire Spreads in Gabala Forests
Baku / 04.09.17 / Turan: The area of the fire that broke out in the Boom forestry of the Arykh village in the Gabala district on September 1 has expanded.
Extinguishing the fire is hampered by high-mountain terrain and windy weather. Despite the creation of mineral arable zones, because of the strong wind, the flames have spread to other areas of the forestry in the direction of the Dandyg and Sulgudja villages, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology reported on September 4.
Special equipment, including aviation, has been attracted to extinguish the fire. About 500 employees of the Ministry of Ecology and the Ministry of Emergency Situations make efforts to quench the fire, using improvised means. -0-
