Five people arrested due to protest action in Soyudlu village
Baku/21.06.23/Turan: Five people were administratively arrested for 20 days due to yesterday's protest action in Soyudlu village of Gedabey region, a local resident told Turan.
"A 75-year-old woman named Leysan was released and given a fine of 1,500 manats. Ten people were injured as a result of the police action.
One of the victims was taken to a hospital on a stretcher and was treated and discharged there. Others injured were already feeling better. However, the woman who was sprayed in the face is swollen. The gas gave her an allergic reaction," said the same source.
The Interior Ministry press office said that IM personnel have been sent to Soyudlu and an investigation is under way, "Further information will be given," the office said.
Representatives from the united territorial medical unit, which runs the state medical affairs in Gedabey region, were not available for comment.
On June 20, police officers used special means to disperse a protest action by residents of Soyudlu village in Gedabey region against the construction of an artificial reservoir for wastewater from gold mining at the "Gedabey" mine. -21В-
