Former commander of the Armed Forces, Fahmin Hajiyev, is not allowed in Azerbaijan
Baku / 08.01.20 / Turan: The commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan during the government of the Popular Front (1992-93), Fahmin Hajiyev, was deported last night after arriving at the Baku airport.
According to Hajiyev himself, he flew from Kiev to visit his sick mother.
He was stopped at a border checkpoint, stating that there was a ban on his entry into the country. After half an hour, police officers delivered Hajiyev to the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Combat Organized Crime.
“They kept me there all night, asking why I came, what I do in Kiev, whom I meet, etc. I was told that they would deport me back, but they did not say on what grounds. They did not allow to meet with my mother, they refused,” Hajiyev said, noting that he was treated normally.
It was not possible to get a comment from the Ministry of Internal Affairs on this matter. -21B-
