Press Club will develop a “Roadmap” for media development
Baku / 08.01.20 / Turan: On January 7, the first meeting of the Baku Press Club Board was held with the participation of experts and heads of a number of media structures.
Zeynal Mammadli, Gulu Maharramli, Mehman Aliyev, Ainur Kerimova, Elchin Shykhly, and Arif Aliyev discussed current problems and future strategies, the press release of the Baku Press Club said.
In particular, they discussed the issue of premises for holding journalistic events, and resolving financial issues related to this.
An action plan has also been approved to ensure the broadcasting of the Internet channel since February of this year.
One of the important areas of Baku Press Club’s activity is cooperation with journalists abroad and foreign media organizations.
The Board noted the importance of expanding the activities of the Russian Bureau of the Club, as well as the creation of similar structures in other regions.
The current situation of Azerbaijani journalism was separately discussed.
It was decided to prepare a “Road Map” - a strategic document designed to promote the revival and development of local media.
* The Baku Press Club was established in 1998 by several media. However, a few years later he was forced to cease operations due to financial problems.
At the end of 2019, the three former founders - the journalistic association Yeni Nəsil, the newspaper “Zerkalo” and the Turan agency decided to revive the Press Club. -02D-
